The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election covering 59 constituencies in six states and a Union Territory registered a turnout of 63.48 per cent compared to 63.37 per cent in 2014 General Elections. Though the number of seats was far less than the constituencies that went on polls in the first five phases, all eyes were on this round of polling as it includes the national capital. While Delhi saw a bevy of political bigwigs including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former chief minister Sheila Dikshit, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi voting in the Phase 6, a number of Bollywood celebrities and sporting sensation also turned up to exercise their franchise on Sunday. While cricketer Virat Kohli stepped out to vote in Gurgaon, actor Sidharth Malhotra flew back home to cast ballot.

Taking to Instagram Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra posted a picture of his inked finger and appealed to fans and followers to exercise their franchise in this season of Lok Sabha polls. "Took a quick break and came to Delhi for this. I've done my bit, it's time you do yours!" Malhotra wrote.
"Me and Mom went to vote today !! #HappyMothersDay to the woman who taught me the difference between right and wrong , good and bad , who shaped me into who I am .. If only I can be half the woman she is," Bollywood diva Huma Qureshi wrote after casting ballot on Sunday.
"Me and my maa for ‘Bharat Maa’," B-town actress Tapsee Pannu wrote on Instagram while posting a picture along with her mother.
